Dr. Ramona Wallace, DO, IFMCP, practices functional medicine with a relentless passion for solving the unsolvable. Her philosophy centers on uncovering the root causes of complex health challenges, particularly for those with neurodivergent conditions, nutrient and micronutrient deficiencies, genetic influences on metabolic function, and gut health imbalances. By blending cutting-edge science with deep compassion, she reconnects patients to their body’s innate wisdom, fostering healing where conventional approaches may have fallen short.

Dr. Ramona Wallace, DO, IFMCP, is a board-certified functional medicine physician renowned for her tenacity in resolving complex health challenges through personalized, root-cause care. At LDMax Health PLLC, she specializes in neurodivergent conditions, nutrient and micronutrient deficiencies, genetic influences on metabolic function, and gut health, integrating advanced diagnostics like quantitative EEGs and Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy (MeRT) with holistic interventions such as nutrition and lifestyle medicine. As a certified practitioner with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFMCP), she dedicates 1 to 1.5 hours to new patients and offers follow-ups from 15 minutes to an hour, ensuring every individual feels empowered to achieve lasting vitality.

Dr. Wallace’s illustrious career spans over three decades of transformative impact across clinical practice, education, and research. She has delivered more than 3,000 babies in small-town private practice, served as Chief Medical Officer at Muskegon Family Care, a Federally Qualified Health Center, and championed community wellness through the Way to Wellville program, significantly improving local health outcomes. Her leadership in nutritional deficiency research, including establishing a national registry, has advanced the field of functional medicine, earning her the 2018 Priority Health Community Leader Award for Food as Medicine. Recognized as an Ashoka Changemaker Scholar in 2016 for social intrapreneurship in health, she has driven innovative programs, such as a dental health coaching initiative and a trauma-informed community project with Health West.

A passionate educator, Dr. Wallace has shaped countless physicians as Assistant Professor at Western Michigan University’s Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, where she led a functional medicine residency track and earned faculty awards in 2022 and 2023. Her expertise as a speaker and panelist for the Institute for Functional Medicine, addressing topics like nutritional assessment and healthy aging, has inspired national and international audiences. She has collaborated with leading medical centers to integrate functional medicine into value-based care, contributing to peer-reviewed journals on nutritional deficiencies and social determinants of health. Her advocacy extends to community initiatives, including co-founding Muskegon’s Oral Health Coalition and establishing cooking classes for healthier living.

Dr. Wallace resides in Battle Creek, Michigan, with her husband, a pilot with whom she enjoys flying in their small plane. Together, they have seven children, along with sons- and daughters-in-law and several grandchildren. Her love for travel and nature complements her professional drive, blending scientific rigor with compassion and an adventurous spirit to guide patients toward optimal health.
